About Instructional Computing Services
Instructional Computing Services (ICS) is a team within Academic Technologies, a unit of Technology Services (TS). Our story as a team started in 2014 under a different name (Labs and Classrooms Computing), but we are still the same team supporting VCU through a shared vision that aligns with the university's strategic goals and the themes found in Quest 2028.
ICS deploys, maintains, and supports academic computing systems at Virginia Commonwealth University. This includes centrally-managed spaces scheduled and funded by the Office of the Provost on the Monroe Park Campus and by the Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences on the MCV Campus. In addition to the central services provided by ICS, the team also provides a range of services, such as support for computer workstations, laptops and desktops, in departmentally-managed academic spaces to VCU units under Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
In 2019, the ICS staff began serving as the university's Adobe Enterprise Administration team, providing account management and billing services for employee licenses, technical support and troubleshooting, and student access to Adobe software.
